I. Proposed changes to the constitution
A. Adding a character clause to nominations for senior awards
All award candidates shall not have engaged in illegal behaviors including
but not limited to smoking, drinking, drugs, or hazing.
B. Coaches shall be members in good standing by a specific date to nominate a
gymnast.
The date for this year would be the January 26th meeting
The date for 2005 would be the first Monday of January 2005
C. Motion to change the executive board for the IHSGGCA to 5 members: President,
Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer and Past President.
D. Motion that mailings refer to email and use of the website. No more snail
mailings except the first mailing of the year.
Notify conference representatives to check with people & non-members
E. Motion to add that Hall of Fame coaches will assume half of the cost of ring
**These items will be voted on at the
January 26th meeting! If unable to attend talk or e mail your conference
representative or an executive board member.***
II. The speakers will be at 6:45 to 7:15
on the night of IHSGGCA meetings. CPDUs will be available for attending the
speakers sessions.
January 26 will be Prevention of Injuries in Gymnastics.
February 23 will be a Sport Psychologist on how to deal with FEAR. **This is
also the National team members voting.
III. Fund raising
A. We are looking for other ideas to raise $ for the National Team
Set goal of $5,000 and keep an indicator of where we are on the website and
each person/team decides how they would like to contribute.
We will still need to increase the cost that the gymnast pays to go the
National Meet
B.Possible fundraising through school's invitationals:
-Charge entrance fee donate to the Coaches
association
-Run a 50/50 raffle donate 50% to coaches assocation
-Set out a jar for donations to the National High School meet and donate to the
assocation. All donations can be sent to Jen Pistorious.
C. Mixed Pairs
Increase involvement of members and spectators
Increase participants with possible change in format
-Top 20 teams
- Illinois High School All American Meet?
- Use All American cut-offs to increase numbers of gymnasts. This would be more
of an open meet ?
-Charge an entrance fee?
Need to promote meet better
D . Candlelight Bowl with Boys Association
Social & fund-raising
Christmas break waiting for date to be confirmed by the boys association
E. We will send a representative to Boys Association or Steering committee to
discuss these ideas.
* Next meeting is January 26th at Maine East at 7:00pm. Speaker is at
6:45 pm. *
